Ambrose Plamondon, His Legacy Lives On
In the heart of a community that values steadfastness, honesty, and industrious spirit, Plamondon Elementary School stands as a lasting tribute to its namesake, Ambrose Plamondon. Born in Quebec in 1833, Plamondon moved to the U.S. and by 1859 had founded a flourishing company in Chicago that specialized in power transmission technology. Known for his ethical conduct and contributions to various social organizations, he left an indelible mark that was honored with the establishment of our school in 1903.
Today, Plamondon Elementary continues to inspire future generations in the spirit of Ambrose Plamondon. We carry forward his dedication to hard work, ethical behavior, and community engagement by providing a nurturing educational environment. Here, we empower students to reach their fullest potential, embodying the entrepreneurial and community-focused ethos that Ambrose Plamondon epitomized. Our mission, at Ambrose Plamondon STEM Elementary School, is to provide high-quality instruction, in a safe environment, that meets students' academic and socio-emotional needs, ensuring that students are prepared, by their eighth-grade year, to enter and be successful in high school, in preparation for college, or a career of their choice, and beyond.
